Judith Ann Dougherty was born July 16, 1946 in St. James to parents Harry and Aredia (Berndt) Dougherty. Judith grew up in the St. James area graduating from St. James High School. She was a stay at home mom raising her family. She then worked for a time at Tony Downs Foods before returning home to operate her day care. She worked at Van-Den-Bergh from 1987 to 1999 when they closed. In 1999 she moved to Pine City where she returned to school at Pine Central Technical College, graduating in 2001. She then moved to Elk River where she worked at McDonald's. Judith enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and crochetting blankets for her grandchildren. As a young girl, she was active in the saddle club in Madelia. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Judith DeLaCruz passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, she was 59 year old. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Teri) DeBell of Truman, daughters, DeeAnn (DeBell) and Darin Martell of Bismarck, ND, Denise (Christopher) Rients of Elysian, Debra (DeLaCruz) Klatt of Elk River and special friend Rob Morgan of Eagan, Danielle (Brad) Berg of Revere, Delicia DeLaCruz of Mankato, Delora DeLaCruz of Rockford, IL, sister-in-law Dianne Dougherty of St. James, 20 grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Steve, and infant grandson.
