Joyce Utz

Joyce Gladys Utz was born on June 19, 1943 in Springfield, MN the daughter of Clarence and Bernice (Haak) Pieske and grew up in Sanborn, MN. After graduation she worked in the Cozy Cafe in Springfield with her mother, Bernice. In 1963 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Utz, Sr. and later divorced. Over the course of her working years, she worked at Stimpert Homes in Sleepy Eye, SMC in Springfield, 3M in New Ulm and various other places including Runnings and AMPI both in New Ulm. Joyce and Donald raised their children in Cobden and enjoyed the small city life. After they divorced she moved to Sleepy Eye for a short time and then to New Ulm and most recently was living in Sleepy Eye. In her younger years Joyce enjoyed bowling, horse back riding, snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting and motor cycling. In her later years she enjoyed Nascar and spending time with family when time allowed but mostly alone time with her cats. She is survived by her children, David Utz of Bemidji, MN, Deb Mead and special friend Donny Schwab of New Ulm, Mike (Leisha) Utz of Elk River, MN, Dennis Utz and special friend Shawn Renwick of Cobden, MN, Melissa (Allen) Krebs of Cobden, MN, Donny (Becky) Utz of New Ulm, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, aunt and uncle, Dale (Evelyn) Holmberg and several cousins.
