Joyce Elizabeth Elg was born June 28, 1923 in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, the daughter of Rudyard and Nancy Kipling. She received her education at North Heaton Girls School. Joyce served with the Royal Air Force for four years during World War II. She met her husband Mildegard Elg while they were both stationed in Cornwall. They were united in marriage on April 14, 1945 and moved to America where they lived on the Henning Elg farm. Joyce Elizabeth Elg died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 81 years. She is survived by sons- Bradford and Kelvin of Comfrey; grandchildren- Derek of Maple Grove, MN, and Stacy Ecker of Comfrey; great grandchildren- Chandler and Taylor; brother- Harry Trobe of England; and sister-in-law- Roselyn Donner of Alexandria,MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Mildegard (Milly) in 1975.
