Joy Maloney

Joy Adelle Maloney, 71, of Madelia, died May 14, 2026, at Birchwood Cottages in North Mankato.

A visitation will be held on May 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia. A private interment will be held at The Columbarium at Hosanna in Lakeville, Minnesota at a later date. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia. Joy was born October 11, 1954, to Arnold and LaDonna (Schwantes) Brummund in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Mankato West High School in 1973. On October 20, 1974, she married Arlen Maloney at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Together, they raised two sons, Matthew and Russell.

Joy worked as a bookkeeper for the House of Print, Dick Olson Motors, and Heintz Toyota. She was an active member at Trinity Lutheran in Madelia. In her free time, Joy enjoyed gardening, rides on her pink golf cart, hosting family get-togethers, and being with her grandchildren.

Joy is survived by her sons, Matthew (Christi) and Russell Maloney; grandchildren, Grace, Abby, Parker, and Julia; and sister, Becki Schmitz.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlen; grandson, Grant; brother, Mark Brummund; and brother-in-law, Ronald Schmitz.
