Joseph Warren

Graveside Service: 10:00am, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Calvary Cemetery in St. James, MN Joseph Warren, age 88, of St. James, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System-St. James. In keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated and a graveside service will be held later this summer. Warren was born in Windom, MN, on August 13, 1922, the son of Harold and Rose (Posch) Warren. His parents passed away when he was a small child and he was raised by his maternal grandmother, Anna Freeby, and aunt Frances Chaffin in St. James. He attended St. James Catholic grade school and St. James public high school, graduating in 1940. Warren was united in marriage to Evelyn Knudsen of Madelia on August 22, 1942. During World War II he served in the Army medical corps in the Pacific theater. He retired from the City of St. James street department in 1984. Warren is survived by his wife Evelyn of St. James and son Stephen Warren of Lakewood, CO.
