Joseph Short

Joseph F. Short was born on Oct. 2, 1929, in Idaho Falls, ID, the son of Joseph and Pearl (LaBar) Short. Following his graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan during the occupation. He was united in marriage to Marian Chappell on March 7, 1951 in Washington state. The couple lived most of their life in Oregon and Montana but moving to Springfield in 1990. Joseph enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. Joseph died on Friday, February 26, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN at the age of 91. He is survived by his children - Jeanette Yeager of Springfield, Dan (Wendy) Short of Mt. Home, ID, Patty (Tom) Daugherty of Tacoma, WA, and David (Meboon) Short of Thailand; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife - Marian in 2014; brother - Charles, sister - Bette; son-in-law - Randy Yeager and a daughter-in-law - Tongbai Short. There will be no public service at this time.
