Joseph Gostonczik

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. Due to Covid 19, this visitation will be a "walk through" visitation and will be limited to the number of people inside the building at any one time. There will be no congregating or gathering inside the building. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Joseph was born in Springfield, MN on October 21, 1950 to John and Veronica (Groebner) Gostonczik. He was baptized and confirmed at the St Raphael Church in Springfield. Currently he was a member of the St Raphael Catholic Church and attended Springfield High School. Joseph was a self-employed contractor working in Springfield and the surrounding area until recently retiring at the age of 62. Joseph married Ethel Stern on April 20, 1974 in Lamberton, MN. Joseph's favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, golf, camping, scooter rides, and an occasional happy hour. Joseph W. Gostonczik, died on October 18, 2020, at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 69. Joseph is survived by his wife, Ethel; son Blair and his wife Stephanie of Zimmerman, MN; son Jay and his wife Sara of New Ulm, MN; grandchildren Max, Eli, Alexis, and Zach; and sister Donna. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents John and Veronica, brothers and sister George, Esther, and David; as well as other relatives and friends.
