John C. Simonson

John C. Simonson, age 86, of Sanborn, MN, died on December 14, 2025, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sanborn Community Center. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Sanborn Community Center. Interment will be at Sanborn City Cemetery at a later date. John Christian Simonson was born February 27, 1939, in Springfield, MN, the son of Paul and Muriel (Davis) Simonson. He was raised on a farm south of Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School. John was united in marriage to Cleo Jean Seifert on September 5, 1964, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. The couple moved to a farm south of Sanborn where they farmed together for many years before moving to Sanborn in 2003. John was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a member of the Colburn American Legion Post #286. He loved to farm and feed the cattle, camping and horses. Above all, he treasured the time he got to spend with his 4 grandchildren and great grandson.

John is survived by sons - Jay (Tricia) of Sanborn and Jim (Mary) of Springfield; grandchildren- Macy (Andy) Simonson Rogotzke, Spencer (special friend Ryleigh) Simonson, Chase Simonson, and Haley (special friend Nathan) Simonson; great grandson Wyatt Rogotzke; sister Mary (Hillard) Rieck Johnson; sister-in-law Connie Anderson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cleo in 2009, brothers - Donny (LaRue) Simonson, Gilbert (Donna) Simonson and Bob (Shirley) Simonson, and brother-in-law Marvin Rieck.
