John Essig

John William Essig was born on June 28, 1953, to Marlowe and Cheryl (Yackel) Essig.  After graduating from Lamberton High School and then went on the Culinary School.  John then worked in the restaurant business and then worked for Super Valu for many years, as a buyer.  He then went on to work for McKesson in California as a V.P. of Private Label.  Due to some health issues, John retired and moved back to Lamberton in 2014.  John was fortunate to have traveled to many countries where he established many friendships and treasured memories.  John enjoyed wintering at Apache Junction, AZ.

John died on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his home in Lamberton, MN at the age of 71.

He is survived by his sisters - Sue (Jeff) Stoutland and Jo (Paul) Creighton; nephews - Justin Essig, Joshua Essig, Jacob Creighton, Ryan Creighton, Joey Stoutland, and Dan Stoutland; niece - Kelly Essig; and many great nieces and nephews.  John was preceded in death by his parents - Marlow and Cheryl and a brother - William "Bill" Essig.
