John Thomas Eager

John Thomas Eager age 54, of Lewisville, MN, died on December 17, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church-Madelia and will continue on Friday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the Faith Lutheran Church-Madelia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Fr. Timothy Hall. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.

John Thomas Eager was born on June 16, 1969 in Inglewood, CA to Thomas and Gloria Eager.  He and his family moved back to Madelia in 1971.  John attended St. Mary's Catholic School through 6th grade and graduated from Madelia High School in 1987.  After graduation, John attended Willmar Vo-Tech and completed the Diesel Mechanic course. On October 2nd, 1993, John married Jennifer Sorenson at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia and the couple made their home in Madelia and later in Lewisville where they raised their sons.  John was so very proud of his two sons, Dalton and Brandon.  He loved them more than anything in this world!

In his early years, John worked along side his father, Tom, repairing trucks.  John drove semi for several companies where he made lifelong friends that he still talked to daily.  John bought his own truck in 2018 and formed J Eager and Sons Trucking, LLC.  He loved restoring vehicles with Dalton and Brandon, most notably classic pickups and Harley Davidsons.  John enjoyed riding Harley, cruising in the classic trucks and hanging out with family and friends.  He also enjoyed trips to Sturgis and winter vacations.  John had a knack for making lifelong friends no matter where he went.  He will always be remembered for his quick wit, impeccable sense of humor and letting you never forget that he was always right.

John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jen Eager; sons, Dalton (friend Hannah Nelson) Eager, Brandon (friend Thejen Luoth) Eager; sister, Johanna Eager; mother-in-law, Barbara Sorenson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Caryn (Brian) Anderson, Steven (Monica) Sorenson, Paul (Dan Johnson-Powers) Sorenson, Debra (Eric) Hanson, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  He is preceded in death by parents, Tom and Gloria Eager; father-in-law, James Sorenson and grandparents.
