John Bishop

John Henry Bishop was born on June 13, 1951, in St. James, MN, the son of Shannon Norma (Wassman) Bishop. John grew up in St. James graduating from St. James High School. He worked at Tony Downs for many years before going to work at Swift Eckrich. In 2007, John's health forced him to retire, he then moved to Mankato to be closer to health care. John was a quiet, easy going, gentle person. He loved being around people and helping out when he could. He had been an active member of the Jaycees and Eagles for many years. John enjoyed watching football (was a season ticket holder for the Vikings), Twins baseball, and Mankato Moon Dogs. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was always ready for and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. John is survived by his siblings; Arnie (Marilyn) Bishop of Starbuck, Jim (Sandy) Bishop of Elizabethtown, KY, Ardis (Leon) Leimer of Butterfield, Bev Fredin of St. James, Ken (Mel) Bishop of St. James, MO, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Duane, Bob and infant David, and a sister Lois.
