Joanne M. Wall

Joanne Marie Wall passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on April 6, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 20, 1931, in Seattle, Washington, to John and Myrtle (Stadem) Gebhart. In her early years, she worked as a switchboard operator—a role that highlighted her patience.

Her life changed forever when she met her husband, Douglas Wall, on a blind date. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their children. Always busy and full of heart, she later owned and operated Liberty Park Greenhouse for 30 years, selling vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables.

Joanne was a sweet, kind, and loving woman who radiated positivity and joy. She was known for her bright smile, big heart, and unforgettable laugh that could light up a room. She was always ready to help, listen, and encourage—whether with a kind word or a welcoming hug.

Joanne was proud to be an active member of several organizations, including the American Legion, the Garden Club, and Faith Lutheran Church (now New Hope Lutheran Church), where she found strength, friendship, and faith.

From 2021 to 2025, she was a resident at St. John’s Lutheran Home, where she continued to share her warmth and positivity with those around her. Throughout her life, Joanne enjoyed puzzling, gardening, entertaining, cooking, painting, and needlework. She also loved helping her husband with woodworking, often lending both a hand and a sharp eye for detail.

Joanne will be remembered for her generous spirit, her talent for bringing beauty into the world, and the deep love she had for her family and community.

She is survived by her daughter Jeanette (Kevin) Rupp of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; granddaughters Alyssa (Joe Maher) Rupp of Portland, OR and Lauren (Cameron Poler) Rupp of Missoula, Montana; and many friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband Douglas; son Keith and daughter Linda; and siblings, sister Dorothy Pinck and brother Jack Gebhart.
