Joan Louise Eischen was born February 9, 1957 in Comfrey, MN to A J and Delores (Olson) Eischen. She attended St. Paul's Catholic School, Comfrey Public School and Alexandria Technical College. Joan was proud of her Comfrey roots and loved being a part of this wonderful community. She worked at People's State Bank and most recently with Lifetime Insurance, both of Comfrey. Joan played piano for St. Paul's Choir and St. Raphael's Youth Choir. She was a loyal member of the church choir, a CCW officer and taught religious education. Joan was a member of St. John's Auxiliary and the Comfrey American Legion Auxiliary. She served on the Comfrey School Board and was an enthusiastic supporter and volunteer for Community Days and many other activities. Joan was a people person. She always met you with a smile on her face and a willingness to listen or lend a hand. If there was a job to do, she was there. Joan will be remembered for her beautiful voice. She sang at numerous weddings, church services and special events. We always marveled at her ability to sing, even among the grieving. She loved performing in plays and talent shows. Heaven's Choir has now gained a star soloist with Joan's angelic voice. All of her nieces and nephews will agree that Aunt Joan was their favorite. She was always there to support them in all of their events and activities from music and sports, to plays and 4-H. Joan cherished their special days and trips, movie nights and sleepovers. She filled a large void left by Grandpa and Grandma. Her love and generosity overflowed for those she loved. Joan remembered birthdays and anniversaries of everyone including family, friends and recent grads going off to school. Joan was the Peacemaker. She always looked for the best in everyone. No matter what she encountered everyone deserved to be forgiven. Prayer was a daily aspect of her life. Many times you would find her absorbed in her prayer books. Faith and prayer were answers for everyone in every situation. Her advice rings true. - Give it to God.
