There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Jerome J.J. John Sellner was born in Brown County, MN to George F. Julia (Hillesheim) Sellner on March 29, 1929. He attended Country School District #11 until 6th grade and St. Mary's Catholic School. Jerome served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. J.J. was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infintry Badge and a Good Conduct Medal. He returned to Sleepy Eye and farmed with his brother Everett and his father. Jerome retired from farming in 1992. He loved to ride his gator, listening to old time music, playing sheephead, reading and having coffee with buddies. Jerome was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the VFW, the Legion and Knights of Columbus. Jerome J.J. Sellner, age 78, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Countryside Apartments. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Cyrilla (John) Manderfeld of New Ulm, Marie Roiger of Hector, Everett (Mary Jane) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Donald (Alice) Sellner of Comfrey, George (Beverly) Sellner of Comfrey, Marge (Ed) Reiner of Springfield, Sister Claren Sellner of Coon Rapids, Dennis (Mary) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Sister Phyllis Sellner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Grace (Ralph) Strangis of Minneapolis and sister-in-law, Diane Sellner of Searles. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clarence, Robert and Wilbert.
