Jerome Arvid Renner was born on December 27, 1934 in Springfield, MN to Arthur and Amy (Hummel) Renner. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1953. On June 14, 1957, he married Rehlda Sievert at the Methodist parsonage in New Ulm. Following graduation Jerry began working for his father at the elevator in Cobden, MN. He purchased the business from his dad in 1963. He managed and owned Cobden Grain and Feed for 41 years and retired in December 1996. Jerry was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, the Farmer's Elevator Association, Minnesota Soybean Council, and the Sleepy Eye Golf Club. He was very active in his church and had held various positions. Hobbies included bowling, fishing, golfing, traveling, and playing cards with family and friends. Jerry was preceded in his death by his brother Paul and his parents. Jerome is survived by his wife Rhelda Renner of Sleepy Eye, sons Richard and wife Elizabeth of Fairfax Station, Virginia, Lt. Colonel Jeffery and wife Lisanne of Ramstein, Germany, and Randy of Sleepy Eye, daughter Julie Betz and husband Greg of Ramsey, MN, 4 grandchildren, Elisha and Erica Renner, Bailey Renner and Gavin Betz, brother Ronald Renner and wife Marlyn of Spicer, MN, sister-in-law Janet Stadick and husband Ben of Lafette, MN, aunt Verna Renner of Springfield and nermerous cousins, neices and nephews. Memorials are prefered to Faith United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, and Sleepy Eye Hospital.
