Jeff Thomas Decock

March 24, 1995 — May 16, 2017

Jeffrey Thomas DeCock was born March 24, 1995, in Springfield, MN, to Doug and Sandy DeCock. He was the eighth of ten children and the youngest of three boys. Jeff loved life and he lived every moment to the fullest. Jeff lived a blessed, wonderful life. He grew up in a home that was always in motion. He loved his siblings, was adored by his nieces and nephews, and always had time to come home to mom and dad. He was willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Most importantly, he had a good heart, a strong faith, and a generous soul. He was truly loved, and he loved deeply. He graduated from Red Rock Central High School in Lamberton, MN, in 2013. During his school career, he excelled as an athlete and was most at home on the basketball court. He brought so many great moments to the fans, especially his biggest fan, his mom. After high school, Jeff attended Iowa Lakes Community College for two years on a basketball scholarship. After community college, Jeff studied business management at Minnesota State University-Mankato and was a member of the Maverick track and field team. He captured indoor conference championships in the high jump and earned a trip to the national Indoor Track and Field Championships in both 2016 and 2017. Sports were truly Jeffs passion in life. He spent his last evening with his dad, enjoying a sunset on Lake Shetek and sharing his thoughts on Gods abundance and the beauty all around us. Jeffrey Thomas DeCock passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the age of 22 years, 1 month, and 22 days. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and teammates.
