Jeanine Marie Wolford (Eigen) passed away peacefully on January 30 at Atlas Villas Memory Care in Centerville at the age of 85. She had just moved there one month ago following the death of her husband, Norman.
Jeanine was born in 1939 in Springfield, MN to Martin and Ann Eigen (Fromm) and grew up on a farm outside of Comfrey, MN. Jeanine graduated from Comfrey High School in 1957. Jeanine loved to go to dances with girlfriends, particularly with Roxann where they met the loves of their lives, Norman and his cousin Joe. Norman and Jeanine were married on November 25, 1958, in Comfrey, MN.
Jeanine attended New Ulm School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN until Terry was born and became a stay-at-home mom. Jeanine also provided care for Linda, who was born with a neuromuscular condition requiring full-time assistance. Norman and Jeanine moved to Morris later in life and she went back into direct care as a CNA at a nursing home and assisted living in Morris, MN. There was no one Jeanine didn’t enjoy taking care of as her heart was as big as her smile.
Jeanine enjoyed the annual family fishing trip, old-time music, going out for dinner, Bingo, and watching the news and game shows. She also looked forward to trips visiting with cousins, site-seeing including the Branson trips. Jeanine was a Minnesota sports fan like the rest of her family. She also helped with gardening and the animals on their family farm outside of Darfur.
They moved to New Prospective in Mankato due to her dementia and seizures. She retained her sense of humor and especially loved when family visited.
Jeanine is survived by her children - Terry (Merry) Wolford of Mankato, Linda of Roseville, Wayne (Lisa) of St. Cloud, Steven (Valerie) of Rushmore and Scott Wolford of Michigan; grandchildren - Heather (Scott) Duneman, Heidi (Brian) Parrow, Michael (Kelsey) Monaghan, AJ (Brittany) Krupke, Nick Wolford, Jordan Wolford, Tyler Wolford, Carson Wolford and David Wolford; great grandchildren - Alexis, Kira, Ivy, Bradley, Cecilia, Logan, Caison and Kinley and brother James Eigen (Rita) from Edina; sister-in-law Cherryl from Mankato. Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband Norman; parents, Martin and Ann Eigen; father and mother-in-law, Wallace and Lucille Wolford; and brother, Michael Eigen.
