Jeanette Ilah Kintzi was born on the family farm near St. James on September 16, 1929 to parents Eugene and Gertrude (Peterson) Kintzi. She grew up in the Highland Park area of St. James. She graduated from St. James High School in 1947. On October 2, 1949 she was united in marriage to Amos Shellum in St. James. The couple has made their home in St. James ever since. Jeanette was very active in her church. She was involved in the Presbyterian Women, Circles, and rummage sales. She was also in the Women's Jaycees. Jeanette and Amos enjoyed their trip to and time spent visiting in Florida. They enjoyed the Cabin near Lake Vermillion and visiting the BWCA. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Jeanette Shellum passed away on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Jason Westman. Jeanette is survived by her husband Amos Shellum of St. James, daughters and sons-in-law Laurie and Steve Westman of St. James, Karen and Alan Mulik of Tampa, FL, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Val Shellum of Brandon, SD, brother Bob and Lucille Kintzi of Rochester, grandchildren Gabe Westman and his fiancee Michelle of Mankato, Jesse (Jason) Chapas of Tampa, FL, Josh Shellum of Brandon, SD, Jamie Shellum of Brandon, SD, Heidi Westman of St. James, and a cousin Ilah Miller of St. James.
