Jeanette Darlene Hale

Jeanette Darlene Hale, age 98, of Mountain Lake, died on July 30, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Lake.

Funeral will be held at Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake Chapel, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Jeanette was born May 15, 1926, to Leo and Mae (Kruger) Gohr in Mountain Lake. She attended elementary school at District 68 in Kimball Township and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1944. She then attended Johnson Beauty School in Mankato. On October 4, 1950, Jeanette married Nathan Hale. Together, they raised one daughter, Dana.

Jeanette worked as a beautician and for People's National Gas for many years.

She was a charter member and a clerk for the First Presbyterian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed, gardening, knitting, bus trips, baking, cooking, and especially attending all of her grandchildren's activities.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Dana (David) Kass of Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Levi Kass of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Taylor Kass of Marshall, Minnesota; great granddaughter, Marleigh Kass; and sister, Leola Gohr of Mountain Lake.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathan; brothers, Frances "Bud" Gohr and George Gohr; sisters, Lorraine Devens, Ruth Jones, and Lois Friesen; sister-in-law, Kay Gohr; brothers-in-law, LeRoy Devens, Alvin Jones, Melvin Friesen; and special family friend, Alberta Ostwald.
