Jeane Mary Murphy was born at Sleepy Eye, Minnesota on October 12, 1925 to Vesta (Sherman) Murphy and James Junior Murphy. She attended Sleepy Eye Public Schools and graduated in 1943. She was married to Herbert Robert Hansen on March 20, 1946. The couple moved to Faribault, MN later that year, and returned to Sleepy Eye in 1953. Herb died from injuries sustained in a car accident on April 16, 1966. Jeane worked as a secretary for the ASCS office for many years, and for the Broich Agency, which later became First Security Insurance Agency. She retired from First Security Agency. Jeane was an avid bowler for many years, and read hundreds of books in her lifetime. She loved to play Solitaire and Bingo, and most of all she loved spending time with her extended family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Jeane Mary (Murphy) Hansen, 82, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN. Jeane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert, an infant son, Thomas Herbert, sisters-in-law Beulah Guhlke and Frances Hansen, and brothers-in-law Albert Hornick, Lloyd Lebert, Leonard Guhlke, Ronald Robertson and Lester Hansen.
