Jean Audrey Lepp

Jean Audrey Lepp age 91, of Saint James, died on January 31, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society-The Village in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, with family at her side.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10 to 11am at the Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Rev. Mandy France. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. James in St. James, Minnesota.

Jean was born February 21, 1931 to parents, David and Alvina (Steinle) Ewert in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. She was one of 4 children. Jean graduated from St. James High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Lepp on September 16, 1951 at Augustana Lutheran Church, in St. James to this union three children were born.

Jean was the guidance office secretary in the St. James school district from 1971-1996.  She loved her job working with so many students over the years. She was a proud farmwife and kept the house and farm running well. Jean enjoyed sewing, which included making most of her wardrobe and decorating the house. She loved to go shopping for clothes and jewelry with her sister, Ileane Voth. She was an avid flower gardener and took great pride in her hanging baskets and gardens. She was active in the many circles at church over the years. She took many opportunities to volunteer as well.  Jean and Dick enjoyed square dancing in their younger years and were marvelous dancers together throughout the rest of their lives.

Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Her legacy to her family will live on in her sense of humor and quick wit.

Jean is survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard Lepp; children, Connie (Randy) Christensen of Brainerd and Mark Lepp of St. James; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Lepp of Easton; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Ileane Voth of St. James; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her son, Michael Lepp; brother, James “Spike” (Lois) Ewert, sister, Kathleen Fjermestad and brother-in-law, Harvey Voth.
