Jay Lothert

Jay Douglas Lothert, the son of Marlow and Darlene (Meyer) Lothert was born on January 17, 1970, in Olivia, MN. He attended Olivia and Danube elementary schools. While in High School he played football and was a wrestler. He was Senior Class President, was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors from Danube High School. Jay joined the U.S. Airforce in April 1989, and served for seven years before being honorably discharged in June 1996. He served in San Bernadino, CA, Tacoma, WA, and in Desert Shield and Desert Storm as an Aerospace Maintenance Journeyman. He recieved the Airforce Achievement medal with 1 device, the National Defense Service medal, and Good Conduct medal with 1 device. On February 16, 2002, he married Karla Hirschman at St. James, MN, and over the next years they had 4 girls. He enjoyed spending a great deal of time with his girls. He also enjoyed working on automobiles and doing home improvements on their home. Every Friday that he was home he took his oldestdaughter, Haley, to ride on the merrry go round carosel. Jay is survived by his wife, Karla Lothert of St. James, MN; 4 daughters, Haley (age 5), Jennifer (age 4), Kimberly (age 2) and Lizabeth (age 9 months); his parents, Marlow and Darlene Lothert of Maynard, MN; 8 brothers and sister, Mike (Joyce) Lothert of Willmar, MN, Ray (Sheri) Lothert of Richmond, KS, Mitch (Chris) Lothert of Olivia, MN, Jeff Lothert of Maynard, MN, Darwin (Natalie) Lothert of Olivia, MN, Scott Lothert of Maynard, MN, Stacie (Darren) Dodge of Hector, MN and Reggie (Jessie) Lothert of Olivia, MN; 9 nephews; 4 nieces; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy (Haley's twin sister); and his grandparents.
