Janyce R Anacker

Janyce R. Anacker, age 88 of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully August 23, 2024, at Seasons Healthcare in Trimont, Minnesota. Visitation will be on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake Chapel. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Rev. Richard Bremseth. Interment will be at Mountain Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Janyce Ruth (Schultz) Anacker was born January 17, 1936, in Trimont, Minnesota to Walter and Ann (Redman) Schultz. At the age of 10 the family moved to Mountain Lake. She graduated from Mountain Lake high school in 1954.

Janyce’s family and Ken Anacker’s family were next door neighbors, and they married September 4, 1954. They went on to have 3 children, Lynnae (Steve) Kunkel, Lori Jacobsen, and Kent (Kim) Anacker. They farmed north of Mountain Lake together until her passing.

Janyce worked in the dietary department at the Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Lake, MN as a head cook and later as the dietary supervisor. Janyce was well loved by all of the staff and residents within the Good Samaritan Society. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Mountain Lake, where she was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML).

Janyce was a proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was an avid watcher of baseball, basketball and soap operas on television. Janyce also enjoyed watching cartoons with her grandchildren.

Janyce was very involved in helping with the whole farming operation, from taking care of the workers to tending to the animals.

Janyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth Anacker of 69 years; her 3 children; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, John (Carol) Schultz and many loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ann Schultz, and her brothers and sisters-in-law.

The urn bearers will be her grandchildren.
