Janice Stoesz

Janice Marie Stoesz, 74, of Saint James, died peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2026, at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00am, at Saint Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Saint James with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Saint James. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Janice was born August 24, 1951, to Bernard and Alice (Baumgard) Hartman in Worthington, Minnesota. She was baptized October 14, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, Minnesota and was confirmed at Saint Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Saint James. She graduated from Saint James High School in 1969. On September 12, 1981, she married Kenneth Stoesz. Janice worked for the City of Saint James managing the liquor store for 37 years. Janice was a kind and generous person that had a great love for her church. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting things.

Janice is survived by her sister, Jeanine Hartman; aunts, Alice Baumgard and LaVonne Place; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; in-laws, Cornelius and Marie Hartman; brothers-in-law, Myron( Gertrude), Ronald and Allen Stoesz.
