Janice Johnson

Janice Marie (Carter) Johnson Janice was called to rest February 14th, 2013 at the age of 69 in Fairmont, MN, after a hard fought 3 year battle with breast cancer. Janice was born to Leonard and Olga (Graf) Carter in Fairmont, MN on May 8th, 1943. She lived in Fairmont until 1953 upon moving to Windom where she was confirmed at Our Savior Lutheran Church. She moved to St. James in 1953 where she graduated from St. James High School in 1961. Janice and Robert were united in marriage at St Paul's Lutheran Church on June 24th, 1961. Janice worked at the Creasant Caf in St. James, before becoming a dispatcher at the Watonwan County Law Enforcement Center in 1969. Trips uptown to play bingo and quilting were among her favorite hobbies. Some of her most enjoyable times were spent at Leech Lake with her family where she fished, socialized, and spent many days relaxing while watching the sunsets with her growing family. Janice is survived by her ever supporting husband, Robert, son Jeff (Joyce) Johnson of Windom, MN, daughter, Jayna Johnson and special friend, Sam of Bloomington, MN, son Jared (Tabitha) Johnson of St. James, MN; grandchildren: Mercedes, Branch, Jasmin, Hunter, and Reed; sister Mary (Chuck) Williams of Fairmont, MN, sister Beverly Milow of Welcome, MN; brother-in-law Marlyn (Carol) Johnson of St. James, MN, sister-in-law Elaine Hanson of St. James, MN and many loving nieces and nephews.
