Janette’s education began in Rembrandt, IA, where she attended school for five years. Over the next decade, she attended schools in various locations throughout Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, and Minnesota, eventually returning to Rembrandt High School where she graduated.

After graduation, Janette worked a variety of jobs, including as a caregiver, nanny, canning factory worker, and at Henry Field Seed & Nursery. It was in 1955 that she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Pidde, and they were united in marriage on January 10, 1959, at Salem Lutheran Church, after Dick returned from his service in the Army.

The couple operated a dairy farm in Brainerd, MN, for two years, then moved to a farm near Comfrey, MN.  In 1969, they moved to Comfrey where Dick transitioned to a career as a carpenter.

In 1972, Janette began working at the Comfrey Public School as a part-time teacher’s aide for the Kindergarten class. Her love for working with children and getting to know the teachers made this job a true joy. Over the years, she transitioned to a full-time position, helping in various classrooms and driving students to other schools in the area. Janette also worked part-time at the community library, where her love of reading and meeting people shone through. She retired from the school in 2012 but continued working at the library until 2023.

Janette was a passionate member of the Comfrey community, contributing to numerous organizations and events. She served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Church Council, and the Church Women's Council. Janette also held the position of District President of the ECLA Women’s group. She was an active member of the Lions Club and Comfrey Area Pride.

Outside of her community work, Janette was known for her love of baking. Whether it was her award-winning apple pies, a batch of chocolate chip cookies, or trying out new recipes, Janette always found joy in her beloved kitchen.

Janette is survived by her 4 children - Brian, Todd, Kristi Lilli, and Eric; daughter-in-law Renee Pidde; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Gail Meinen; brother in-law Roger Pidde; sisters-in-law Helen Herrig and Marilyn Pederson and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Irene Moore; brother Gary Moore; her husband Dick; sons Lee and Noel; son-in-law John Lilli and brother-in-law Harold Pidde.

Janette’s warm heart, kindness, and dedication to her family, friends, and community will always be remembered. She touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.
