Janet Coners

Janet Elaine Lyons, the daughter of Earl Myron and Marie Josephine (Konz) Lyons was born on June 21, 1934, in Stately Township, near Comfrey, MN. She received her education in country school, and Comfrey Public School. Janet was baptized on July 11,1934, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. She later became a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and she was currently a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, MN. Janet married Ervin Paul Dick in 1949, and they later divorced. On November 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Claus Coners Jr. in Estherville, IA. They made their home in Comfrey, where Janet worked at Butterfield Foods in Butterfield, St. John's Lutheran Home in Springfield, Advertising Unlimited in Sleepy Eye, and the job she loved the best - child care. Janet moved to Mountain Lake following the tornado that swept through Comfrey in 1998. She was a member of VFWAuxiliary #9607. Janet loved caring for children and did baby-sitting for many families. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and baking and cooking. Janet Coners, 72 ,of Mountain Lake, MN, formerly of Comfrey, MN died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at her home in Mountain Lake, MN. Janet is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Felix) Spaulding of Windom, MN, DeDe and Gene Wegner of St. James, MN, and Amy Coners and fianc Brad Nielsen of Madelia, MN; three sons, Norman L. Dick, Carl Coners and Pam Dick, and Chuck and Brenda Coners, all of Mountain Lake; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a sister,Nellie and Roger Peterson of Comfrey; a brother, Earl and Vera Lyons of Ogden, IA; an aunt, Genevive Schlief of LeSeur, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marie Lyons, and her step-father, Ralph OleConers; her husband, Claus Coners Jr. in January 1985; a son, Douglas Coners; a sister, Eleanora Anacker; and a brother, James Lyons.
