Jane Luttman

Jane Ellen Black was born December 5, 1937, in Mattoon, IL to Alfred and Eula Lee (Griever) Black. As a small child, the family moved to Abilene, TX where Jane graduated from Abilene High School in 1955. She was named the "Flashlight Queen" of the class. Jane attended North Texas State University before going to work for West Texas Utilities and in 1956 she married James Tatum. This union brought the first two of four children. Jane was united in marriage to John Luttman on May 27, 1970, and the couple made their way to Lamberton which she has called 'home' since. Jane worked at Valley View Manor for many years before doing home health care prior to retirement. She was known for her home and decorating, and a fabulous southern-style cook, especially her fried chicken! She was also an accomplished pianist which brought great joy to her and others.Jane was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and dearly loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. Jane Luttman died Monday, February 4, 2013, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 75 years. She is survived by husband John of Lamberton; children- Larry and Lynette Tatum of Abilene, TX, Lisa (Tatum) and Gary Lackey of Dallas, TX, Shannon (Luttman) and Dr. Badar Anwar of Henderson, NV, and LeeAnn (Luttman) and Wade Wellner of Lamberton; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; sister Beverly (Black) and Preston Jarvis of Marietta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
