The family would prefer memorials. James was born on December 6, 1939 in St. James, MN the son of Clarence and Selma (Hanson) Syverson. He grew up and attended country school near Godahl and later attended and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. He was a life long resident of Sleepy Eye where he worked for many years for Holm Industries in New Ulm, MN. James married LaDonna Kuelbs on April 16, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. James enjoyed bowling league, his coffee buddies at the bakery and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories and a good joke. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna (Kuelbs) Syverson of Sleepy Eye, daughters, Darcy Syverson of Sleepy Eye, Stacey Tuckwell of Las Vegas, Debi Kuelbs Lajti and husband Rick of Peru, NY, three grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley and Abigail, brother, Richard Syverson of Sleepy Eye, sister, Janet Templin and husband Harlan of Tucson, AZ, brother-in-law, Don Kuelbs and wife Betty of Alexandria, MN and sister-in-law, Carrie Syverson of Bloomington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles.
