James Nachreiner

There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. James Jim G. Nachreiner, 58, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN James Jim Glenn Nachreiner was born on August 29, 1951 in New Ulm, MN, the son of Leon Elizabeth Betty (Roiger) Nachreiner. He grew up and attended school in Leavenworth until 8th grade. Jim graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1969. He worked for the Elevator in Sleepy Eye and then entered the US Navy from April 1971 until April 1975. He married Gloria Amparo Ramirez on December 14, 1974 in NAS Whitey Field Naval Base in Milton, FL. After he was discharged from the Navy he attended the university in Pensacola, Fl where he received his associates degree. The couple moved to Sleepy Eye on October 4, 1977 when Jim returned to work at the River Region Coop. He also farmed with his father for a few years and was a volunteer coach for the Leavenworth Baseball Association for many years. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting with his boys, gardening, taking care of his fish and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Sleepy Eye, children, Eric Nachreiner of Miami, FL, Kelly Nachreiner of Sleepy Eye, Jeremy (Missy) Nachreiner of St. James, Mike (Jade) Nachreiner of St. Paul, parents, Leon Betty Nachreiner of Sleepy Eye, granddaughter, Emily Nachreiner, mother-in-law, Margarita Ramirez of Cali, Colombia, siblings, Duane (Jelene) Nachreiner of Springfield, Daniel (Linda) Nachreiner of Springfield, Linda (Stan) Schroepfer of Comfrey, Terry (Theresa) Nachreiner of Sleepy Eye, Paul (Gay) Nachreiner of Wosley, SD, Lynnae (Steve) Pelzel of Sleepy Eye, sister-in-law, Nancy (Rafael) Gomez of Miami, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stillborn sister and brothers, Randy Patrick.
