James Lang

December 3, 1941 — September 26, 2006

James Frank Lang was born December 3, 1941, in New Ulm, MN, the son of Joseph, Sr. and Mildred (Schunk) Lang. The family moved to the Sanborn area in 1942. After graduating from Sanborn High School, Jim went to work for Kaiser Construction in Fairbault, MN. On October 23, 1967, he was united in marriage to Ginny Kochmann at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. The couple moved to Georgia where Jim worked at Carpenter Construction. They returned to Sanborn in 1970 where Jim founded and Herb Scheffler founded and were co-owners of LS Construction. After selling his part of LS Construction, he went on to operate his own trucking firm, Jim Lang Trucking. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Catholic Aid Association. Jim was also a member of Colburn American Legion Post #286 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, grilling, and watching football and baseball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. James Frank Lang died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at his home in Sanborn at the age of 64 years. Survivors include his wife- Ginny of Sanborn; sons- Kim and wife Stacey of Rothsay, MN, and Keith and wife Janel of Redwood Falls; grandchildren- Cole, Landon, Caden, Alex and Brandon; sister- Jo Ann and husband David Schwartz of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother- Joseph, Jr.
