James Harold Jenzen was born March 22, 1929 in Springfield, MN, the son of Edward Ames and Hertha Aliza (Schmidt) Jenzen. He lived his entire life in Springfield and attended Springfield Public Schools. Jim enlisted with the U.S. Army and served in Germany and Korea. He was a Master Mason and masonry contractor throughout his career. Jim was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, having been baptized July 23, 1929, and a member of John Watson American Legion Post #257. His favorite things in life were fishing and hunting, traveling, especially trips to see his brothers and sisters, spending time at the ocean, cooking, gardening and tending to his many tropical plants. But most of all, Jim's favorite times in life were when he gathered and entertained his family and loved ones. James Harold Jenzen died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the the New Ulm Medical Center at the age of 75 years. Jim will be missed by his loving wife- Linda; daughters- Jane and husband John Altenhofen, and Deb and husband Todd Salonek; sons- Kerry and wife Barbra Jenzen, and Hunter Jenzen and fiance' Kristy Bailey; four grandchildren- Nathan Altenhofen, Drake Jenzen, Tianna Salonek and Zach Salonek; and sisters- Lorraine Crannage of Belleville, IL, and Marilyn Wallace of Mason City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers- Vernell, Virgil, Wayne, Edward, Bobby and Arnold; and 2 sisters- Arlene and Shirley.
