Jackie Edward Carter

Jackie Edward Carter was born May 23, 1935, in Albert Lea, MN to Clinton and Irene (Ausen) Carter. He attended St. James High School then was a deputy officer for the city of Gibbon. Jackie was united in marriage to Lenora Bright on January 31, 1953. He worked for the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad before retiring in 1992. He then worked as a part-time bailiff for the Watonwan County court system. Jackie enjoyed fishing and loved to clean Terry's walleyes! He was always up for a shopping trip to Menard's and loved watching his great-grandkids play ball. Jackie Carter died Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in St. James at the age of 83. He is survived by wife Lenora of St. James; daughter- Julia Balistierri of Rochester, MN and her children and grandchildren Hanna and Stewart Cockburn (Lindsey), Sarah and Dean Oachs (Jack and Noah), Gretchen and Adam Palmer (Kiah), and Megan Balistierri and Chad (Brycen), son Terry and Vicki Carter of St. James, MN and their children and grandchildren Jeremy and Sheila Carter (Austin and Emma), Jessica and Jason Kolb (Grace, Ella and Lily), and Joshua and Sarah Carter, daughter Debbie Carter of San Antonio, TX and her children and grandchildren Rebecca Serano (Aunika and Elias), Leland and Catherine Driggs (Austin, Gabby, Aaron and Alexander), and Roberta Henley (Arriana and Brandin), son Brian and Cathy Carter's children and grandchildren Christa and Kory Simon (Kaylee, Caleb, Landon and Lacey), and Benjamin Carter and Steph, Cory and Rhonda Carter of Fort Jackson, SC and their children and grandchildren Brandon and Emily Carter (Avery, Abigail and Allison), and Elizabeth and Mathew Smith (Maddie); and sisters- Kay (Milo) Holland of Butterfield, MN, Beverly Dewall of San Diego, CA, Pat (Dennis) Lenz of Hopkins, MN, and Judy (Kay) Kramer of Gibbon, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Cathy Carter; grandson Cody Carter; and sister and brother-in-law Betty and Don Meyer.
