Jack Otto Sundby was born on September 9, 1933 in Stephen, MN, the youngest of 12 to Otto and Alma (Nelson) Sundby. He grew up in Stephen and attended country school and worked on the family farm. Jack worked as a car salesman at Rydell Chevrolet in Grand Forks and a used car manager at Westlake Chevrolet in Seattle, WA. He married Sandra Spicer on August 31, 1968 in Seattle, WA. Jack and Sandy made their home in Seattle for 12 years before moving to Warren where Jack worked with his brother at D and S Auto Supply for a few years later moving to Grand Forks where he managed the Big Sioux Truck Stop. After he retired, they moved to Minnesota Lakes area to be near their daughter, Beth and family. Jack was a dedicated Minnesota Twins fan for many years and loved listening to the radio, reading the newspaper and following the weather. He was endearingly known to family and friends as quite the jokester and shared some of his favorite moments with family just having a beer, shooting the breeze and enjoying life. He and his wife spent endless enjoyment together doing various projects and working side by side in the yard. He is survived by the love of his life, Sandy of Detroit Lakes, MN, daughters, Kelly (Jay) VanSickle of Sleepy Eye, MN, Beth (Dusty Schueller, Sleepy Eye, MN) Nelson of Lake Park, MN, grandchildren, Alexa and Regina VanSickle, Livia and Jack Nelson, sister, Lola (Pete) Beaudry of Argyle, MN, sisters-in-law, Irene Lindemoen of Grand Forks and Fredryce Sundby of Warren, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
