Jack Geschwind

There will be a parish prayer service at 5:45pm Thursday at the funeral home. John Peter Geschwind was born on March 31, 1923 in Tynan, TX, the son of Mike S. Julia (Mick) Geschwind. He grew up and attended school in Tynan. At age 13 he moved with his family to Sleepy Eye, MN where graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from June of 1943 until April of 1946. Tex returned to Sleepy Eye where he worked for the Brown County REA as a lineman for 38 years. He married Monica Mickey M. Thome on February 20, 1950 in Searles. He retired in 1986. Tex was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW, Legion, Eagles and the Saddle Club. He loved fishing, horseback riding, golfing, playing cards, hunting, was an avid Twins Vikings fan and especially spending time with family. He is survived by his wife, Mickey Geschwind of Sleepy Eye, children, Susan (Eric) Mullins of Colorado Springs, CO, Sandy (Dennis) Burnett of Hutchinson, Bill (Deb) of Eagan, Rosie (Mark) Osmonson of Sleepy Eye, Jon (Marie) of Sleepy Eye, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David James in infancy and brother, Roy.
