There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m, Thursday at the funeral home. J. Tom Ganske was born December 14, 1939, in Home Township, Brown County, the son of John and Ann (Kachelmeier) Ganske. A lifetime resident of Sleepy Eye, Tom farmed the family farm before becoming owner/operator of Ganske Trucking Company. He was united in marriage to Karen Halvorson on April 8, 1961, at St. Mary's Rectory in Sleepy Eye. Tom was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things John Deere. Tom especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tom Ganske died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center at the age of 70 years. He is survived by wife Karen of Sleepy Eye; children- Kim and wife Kimberly Ganske of Bloomington, Susan and husband Ronny Cordes of New Ulm, Nancy and husband Dan Tvedten of Rhinelander, WI, and Thomas Ganske of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren- Rachel, Brandon, Derek, Sam, Katlin, Nicole, Anders, and Nathan; brother Lyle (Myrna) Ganske of Brea, CA; sisters- Colette Van De Bogert of Elkhorn, WI, Mary Jane Koessler of New Ulm, and Maureen (Pete) DeRosier of Burlington, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim; and sisters- Lois Flor, Mildred Linnihan, and Joan Jensen.
