Ivan Harry Engholm Ike was born on February 7, 1922 in Sleepy Eye, MN the don of Henry Anna (Becker) Engholm. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1948 mostly in the North South Pacific. After he was discharged from the Navy he started farming in Eden Township. Ike married Mava Schultz in May of 1950 and together they joined St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan. Ike enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling, riding horse and reading. He served on the church council and was a life member of the VFW Post 800 and a member of the Legion Club in Sleepy Eye. He retired from farming in 1987 and moved to Morgan, MN. In 1988 he started working part-time for Farmers Elevator in Sleepy Eye until 2002. Ivan Ike Harry Engholm, 86, of Morgan, MN died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Survivors include his wife Mava of Morgan, 4 children, Dennis (Meg) of Monarch, MT, Alan (Michele) of Hutchinson, Gary (Michele) of Broomfield, CO and Connie of Redwood Falls, 2 grandchildren, Summer (Trevor) Engholm and Brandon Engholm, 4 step-grandchidren, Christopher, Katherine, Danika and Henry, 2 brothers, Elmer (Florence) and Edwin (Minnie) all of Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Waldo who was killed in the service, brother, Orville (Doris), sisters Erna (Marvin) Lendt and Lucille (Harold) Laube.
