Ismael Navarrete Bustos, age 89 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on Friday, April 17, 2026, at New Ulm Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye with a Prayer Service at 3:45 pm prior to the visitation. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Fr. Craig Timmerman. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Ismael Navarrete nacido en Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico en 12/1/1936.

He is survived by five children, Lorenzo Navarrete, Laura Navarrete, Lourdes Navarrete, Leticia Navarrete y Ludivina Navarrete and their families. For many years Ismael migrated to Sleepy Eye to work at Del Monte. In 1998 he suffered a terrible accident and lost his right arm and he could no longer migrate. Two of his daughters made Sleepy Eye their place to raise their families and the rest of his children and their families are in Texas. He will be loved and deeply missed by all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
