Irvin Quiring

Irvin Jerome Quiring, the son of John J. and Justina (Goossen) Quiring was born on September 22, 1918, at Mountain Lake, MN. He received his education at the German Bible School and Mountain Lake Public Schools. On June 1, 1941, Irvin was baptized upon confession of his faith and received as a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, and this is where he remained a life long member. Irvin was united in marriage to Lorraine Peters on March 28, 1947, at the Bethel Mennonite Church.They made their home and farmed north of Mountain Lake until moving into Mountain Lake in 1956. He also worked at Toro Manufacturing for 24 years. Irvin enjoyed watching animals and birds, and he was an avid reader. Irvin J. Quiring, age 86, of Mountain Lake, MN, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Irvin is survived by his wife, Lorraine Quiring of Mountain Lake, MN; two daughters, Barbara and her husband Donald Jacques of Bloomington, MN, and Sharlene Quiring of Brooklyn Park, MN; two grandchildren, Gordon Jacques and Nicole Jacques; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John D. Quiring, Walter Quiring, Oscar Quiring and William Quiring; and two sisters, Olga Quiring and Bertha Peters.
