Irma Joyce Lohrenz

Irma Wohlford was born in Sleepy Eye, MN to Wells and Esther (Jacobson) Wolford on February 23, 1933. She attended and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School. Irma furthered her education at Mankato Teacher's College, graduating with a teaching degree. She was united in marriage to Richard Lohrenz on June 11, 1954 in Sleepy Eye. They made their home in Mountain Lake where they raised their family and Irma taught for 34 years in the Mountain Lake Elementary School. Irma loved all crafts, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, photography and baking. She had a deep love for children (including countless foster kids). She also enjoyed camping and traveling around the country. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kent (Janet) Lohrenz, Sheldon, IA; grandchildren, Michael Jetter, Windom, MN, Tina Brown, Cedar Falls, IA, Kayla Tesch, Hastings, MN, Kacey Porter, Miesville, MN; one brother, Calvin Wohlford, Madelia, MN; sisters-in-law, Sandi (Bob) Roel, Joyce Lohrenz, Sandi Wohlford; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sons, Todd Lohrenz and Eric Lohrenz; daughter, Lori Puente; sister, Verna Krenz; brothers, Donny Wohlford and Curtis Wohlford.
