Irene Adeline Krueger was born August 26, 1920 to George and Ella (Tews) Buhr in Stately Township, Brown County, MN. She was united in marriage to Wilbert W. Krueger on January 31, 1946 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stately Township. Irene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield where she was active in the Mary Magdalene Circle, WELCA, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School as a teacher, mission sewing group, altar guild and flower committee. She was a member of the Springfield American Legion Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary, St. John's Home Auxiliary, Extension Club, Birthday Pinochle Card group and birthday coffee club. Irene was also a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed time with her family and grandchildren, yard work and tending to flowers, she was a wonderful and creative baker and cook, meticulous housekeeper, loved shopping for clothes, jewelry and accessories, reading, bible studies, cards and coffee with friends. Irene became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home in April of 2010. Irene Krueger, 91, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN. Irene is survived by her sons - Steven and fianc Sue Germann of Madison, WI, Jeff Krueger of Springfield; grandsons - Bryan and wife Stephanie Krueger of Janesville, WI, Scott and fianc Allie Donenberg of Minneapolis, MN; great granddaughter - Sasha Ann Krueger; sisters - Bernice Balbach and Marge Gatzlaff both of Springfield, MN; 10 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by - her mother Ella in 1962 and father George in 1965; husband Wilbert in 1996; brother Leroy; daughter-in-law Peggy Krueger; sisters-in-law - Edna Wall, Eleanore Krueger, Mitzi Churchill; brothers-in-law - Lynn Balbach, Loren Gatzlaff, Edward Krueger, Lawrence Wall, Alfred Krueger and Herbert Krueger.
