Irene Jenniges

There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Sunday at 7:30 PM at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. Irene Emma Jenniges was born on March 30, 1923 in Willow Lake Township, the daughter of Matthias and Theresa (Baumann) Heinz. She graduated from Lamberton High School. On June 18, 1941 she was united in marriage to Vincent P. Jenniges at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda, MN. They lived in the Washington, D. C. area during Vincent's time in the US Army. Vincent and Irene raised their family in the Wabasso area where Irene worked at the Wabasso Nursing Home. The couple retired in 1976. Irene enjoyed her involvement with Senior Dining in Wabasso. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing cards and bingo, puzzle books, vacations at the lake, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso and a member of CCW. Recently Irene has been a resident at Country Manor in Sartell, MN. Irene died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Country Manor in Sartell at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her sons - Vincent M. (Vicki) of Paynesville, John (Margaret) of Maple Lake, Rene' (Dianne) of Wabasso , Thomas (Elaine) of Redwood Falls, Leonard (Vicky) of Wabasso, Ronald of Wabasso, and Robert (Berdie) of Wabasso; daughters - Dianne (Duke) Bergstrom of Milaca, Ramona (Mike) Patton of St. Joseph, and Monica Gloege of Eden Prairie; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sisters - Tillie Grossman and Aggie Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Vincent in December of 1995; a son - David in infancy; a brother - Raymond; and sisters - Helen and Lolly.
