Irene Durheim

Irene Durheim, age 102, of St. James, died on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Myrtle Irene Durheim was born on August 24, 1908, on the family farm, in Nelson Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota, to parents Ernest and Amelia (Brendenmuhl) Durheim. Irene grew up on the family farm and attended County School District 58. She worked at the St. James Hospital, in housekeeping, for more than 20 years. She spent her entire life taking care of family. She enjoyed travelling with friends and family. Music played a large part in her life, she loved to play the piano and sing. She also enjoyed church activities and had a strong Faith. She loved her cat companion Missy. Irene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, infant Albert, Lillian, Wilbert, Clarence, Grace, Russell and Gertrude.
