Inez Mae Polkow was born August 9, 1927 in St. James, MN, the daughter of Selmer and Thea (Olson) Bergum. She attended and graduated from Comfrey High School and attended Teachers Training. On June 25, 1948 she married Roland Polkow at Albion Lutheran Church. The couple moved to a farm in Burnstown Township where they farmed. Inez was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, Rebecca Circle, and Alter Guild. Inez faithfully attended Bible Study, enjoyed card clubs, Birthday club, visiting with friends, fishing with Roland, reading, word searches, gardening, and baking. She was truly devoted to her family, farming, and her husband Roland. Inez died on Monday, January 16, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester at the age of 78 years. She is survived by her husband - Roland Polkow of Springfield; children - Steven and wife Linda Polkow of Owatonna and their children - Todd, Sara, and Hope; Judy and husband Richard Pauling of Duluth and their children - Jason and Sherri and her husband Jason Lashinski; Jean Polkow of Northfield; Dean Polkow of Golden Valley; and Jill and husband Tim Vogel of Springfield and their children - Scott and Emily; great grandchildren - Jordan, Avery, and Devann; sister-in-law - Doris Beirman of Jeffers; brother-in-law - Robert and wife Lois Baur of Nevada and Larry and wife Ruth Potter of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a child in infancy; a son - Daniel in 1994; brothers-in-law - Loren Beirman and Willis and wife Phyllis Polkow; and nephews - Craig Potter and Allan Polkow
