Inez Hammond

Inez was born on January 21, 1911 in Morgan, MN, the daughter of Robert Jenny Tretbar. She moved with her family at the age of two to Sleepy Eye. She grew up in Sleepy Eye and married Samuel J. Hammond on August 30, 1966. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye. Inez was a homemaker and life long member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. She enjoyed gardening and her sunny disposition will be forever remembered. Inez M. Hammond, 98, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Tresemer of Mankato, special niece, Vicky (Jim) Hacker, nephews, LeRoy (Irma) and Grant Hammond, brother-in-law, Russel Herigstad and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by friends, Connie Ibberson, Bill Hieronymus and Mary (Gardell) Marti. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ernest Petersen, second husband, Sam Hammond, brother, Clarence Tretbar, sisters, Ellen Meilke, Marie Torney, Florence Geier, Bernice Arbus, Lorraine Thompson and Helen Herigstad.
