Ilah Wolle

Ilah Wolle, age 86, of Darfur, died on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mt. Lake. Ilah Winifred Evangeline Koenig was born on the family farm near Darfur on August 1, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Stark) Koenig. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Darfur. She grew up and lived in the Darfur area her entire life. Ilah began playing the organ at church when she was 15 years old. After raising her family she returned to playing the church organ which she did for about 25 years, retiring after her husband had heart surgery. On December 19, 1953, she was united in marriage to Melvin Wolle. Ilah was active in church playing organ and teaching Sunday school for many years. She also was a member of St. John's Ladies League, serving as an officer many times. She enjoyed flowers and crocheting, but loved and cherished time spent with her family, all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the times spent at the cabin and visiting in Wisconsin. She had fun playing cards and marble games with sister Fern and brother-in-law Dave Dick and the rest of her family. Ilah is survived by her sons; Jim (Carol) Flaming of Mt. Lake, Rodger (Regina) Flaming of Spring Valley, CA, Don (Barb) Wolle of Lake Crystal, Doug (Shirley) Wolle of Darfur, Charles (Charlene) Wolle of Mt. Lake, sons-in-law; Harvey Henze of Sioux Falls, SD, Dale Parsons of Madison, SD, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, several foster grand children and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughters Nancy Parsons, Ilah Jane Henze, son; Jerry Flaming, granddaughter Brandi Flaming, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
