There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4pm and a Parish Prayer Service at 7pm, both Tuesday at the funeral home. Ida Catherine Mathiowetz, daughter of John Thresea (Weber) Treml was born on February 5, 1914 in Leavenworth Township. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Leavenworth Township. After her education she helped on the farm and worked for many families in the area. On April 17, 1945 she was united in marriage to Joseph Mathiowetz. They lived and farmed in Albin Township for 8 years and then moved to Mulligan Township where they farmed and raised their family. After Joe's death in 1992 she continued to live on the farm until October of 2006 when she moved to Brickstone Manor in Comfrey. Ida was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth and the Christian Mothers Society. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, gardening and flowers. Ida loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends. Ida C. Mathiowetz, 94, of Comfrey, MN died on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Brickstone Manor in Comfrey. Survivors include, children, Shirley Nellis of Lakefield, Ronald (Beverly) of Mt. Lake Kenneth (Penny) of Sleepy Eye, 5 grandchildren, Todd (Darcy) Dahna of Windom, Jodi (Jared) Praska of Lakefield, Kristopher (Sarah) Mathiowetz of New Ulm, Lindsey (Phil) Radel of Mankato Eric Mathiowetz of Mt. Lake, 6 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Madison Tyler Dahna, Abigayle Konner Mathiowetz Kennedy Praska, sister, Mary (Carl) Bates of Springfield, brother-in-law, Ben Ludewig, sisters-in-law, Marion Treml, Mary, Marie, Winnifred, Lucille, Rose Phyllis Mathiowetz her extended family at Brickstone Manor in Comfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Ken Nellis, brothers, Joe, John, Mike, Henry, Herman Ben, sisters, Helen, Emma Alvina.
