Hollis Ladd

Hollis Bud Adam Lawrence Ladd was born on November 3, 1927 in Springfield, MN the son of Allan L. Louisa (Jungers) Ladd. He attended District #44 country school and later attended Dunwoody Institute. After he completed his schooling Hollis enlisted in the US Navy serving from 1946 to 1947. He returned to the area and farmed from 1948 to 1991. Hollis married Lois J. Schauman on June 5, 1949 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Hollis earned his GED through the military in 2001. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sanborn, past member and president of Grace Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and a past member of the Farmers Union. Hollis enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and tinkering with things. Hollis A. Ladd, 78, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Friday, October 13th, 2006 at his home in Sleepy Eye, MN Survivors include his children, Steven (Bonnie) Ladd of Cambria, Mark (Susanne) Ladd of Springfield, Alana (Keevin) Speckman of Battle Creek, MI, Holly (Robert) Mehltretter of North Mankato and Christine (Stephen) Anderl of Cottage Grove, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois in 2005, brothers, Raymond and James and sister, Marguerite Guhlke.
