Hildegard Emma Meinert was born on October, 17, 1917 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Ferdinand and Bertha (Utecht) Krenz. She baptized at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and publicly confessed her faith on April 13, 1930 where she was confirmed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. She attended country school Dist. # 29. On February 24, 1950 she married Raymond H. Meinert at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. This union was blessed with two sons. Together they farmed in Prairieville Township and later in Paxton Township and in 1991 Raymond died. Hildegard moved to Redwood Falls in the spring of 1992, to the Country Side Apartments in Sleepy Eye in 1997 and later became a resident at Gil-Mor Manor in 1999. She was a former member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, MN, and a current member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Hildegard died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Gil-Mor Manor Care Center in Morgan at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her children - Gary and wife Priscilla of New Ulm, MN and David and wife Mary of Redwood Falls, MN; grandchildren - Todgeo and wife Melanie, Timothy, Tiphanie, Jeffrey, Andrew, and Daniel Meinert; a great granddaughter - Hailey Meinert; a sister - Arlene and husband Milo Christensen Sr. of Morgan; sisters-in-law - Betty Krenz of Sleepy Eye, and Helen Krenz of Mora, Melva and husband Leonard Koch of Lamberton, Erna Meinert of New Ulm, and Violet Meinert of Springfield. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond H. Meinert in 1991; brothers - Arthur in infancy, Alfred, Elroy and wife Hazel, and Ferd; sisters - Esther and husband George Lochner and Verna Krenz; brothers-in-law - Delbert Meinert and Lloyd Meinert and a sister - in- law - Mildred and husband Philip Fiebiger.
