Hilda (Olson) Enstad, 97, of Lamberton, MN died on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN. Visitation will be on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church. Service will be held at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 10:30 AM. The Clergy will be Pastor Michael Stangeland. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, MN. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at www.sturmfh.com. Hilda Enstad was born on February 7, 1912 on the family farm in Cottonwood County, the daughter of Kjetil and Ragnhild (Haugen) Olson who were married in 1904 in Hjartdal, Norway. She attended school district #30 and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1931. In 1935, she received her RN degree from Kahler Hospital in Rochester. Hilda worked as an RN in Rochester, and other hospitals throughout the United States before her marriage. She was baptized, confirmed and then united in marriage at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church to Theodore Enstad on November 18, 1944. Ted and Hilda lived on and farmed the land Ted's grandfather tree claimed in Ann Township. Hilda was an active and life long member of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church and participated in many church and community groups. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, bible studies, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Hilda died on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton at the age of 97 years. She is survived by her children - Earl and wife Judith Enstad of Revere, MN, Ralph Enstad of Norwalk, OH, and Anne and husband John Oberholtzer of Marietta, GA, 9 grandchildren - Jennifer Enstad of St. Paul, Suzanne Enstad of St. Paul, Ted (Julie) Enstad of Sioux Falls, Leah (Owen) Hoegh of Sioux Falls, John Oberholtzer of Atlanta, GA, Chris (Kelly) Oberholtzer of Dunwoody, GA, Brad (Gwen) Francis of Huron, OH, Doug Francis of Gordonsville, TN, and Sarah Enstad of Columbus, OH; 6 great grandchildren - Clara and Elsie Hoegh, Kate, twin boys Quinn and Brady Oberholtzer, Libby Francis; and a brother - Oscar (Vernette) Olson of Storden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Theodore; brothers - Carl and Ole Olson; and sisters - Ragna Hendrickson, Alma Olson, Olga Martens, Selma Knell, and Esther Hurt.
